Why a Veteran Arkansas Police Officer Loves His Hybrid Cruiser

"Y'know, when I first heard about the Camrys they were gonna order, I was dead set against it," officer Don Cleek drawls. He's been on the force longer, probably, than his new partner has been alive, and he believes in doing things the old fashioned way.

"Police cars are supposed to be rear-wheel drive, V8, and a lot of room, and able to go through ditches."

To the law enforcement officers of Arkadelphia, Arkansas, keeping their city safe is the number one priority. They used to think the way to do that was with bigger, meaner cars. The…

Toyota Highlander Goes Green with 2016 Hybrid Model

Here at Oxford Toyota, we've got a lot of love for our eco-conscious utility vehicle, the 2016 Toyota Highlander Hybrid.

And apparently, so too does Cars.com reviewer, Kelsey Mays. He seemed pleased as punch upon first meeting the Highlander Hybrid. Watch his encounter unfold in the video below:

As you might expect, the drivetrain of the Highlander Hybrid is no doubt an innovative one. Teaming a 3.5-liter V6 with several electric motors and a battery pack, overall output for the SUV checks in at a hearty 280 horsepower.

The Toyota RAV4 Hybrid: For Adventurous Travels

World travel: does the thought give you goosebumps? For many of us, “travel” tops our bucket list. For the Vaga Brothers, it’s a regular occurrence.

The brothers—who define themselves as half-Kiwi, half-Californian—travel the world together taking in the sights, experiencing local culture and capturing everything on camera. They then share their journeys with a large audience via a dedicated YouTube channel.

Toyota learned of the Vaga Brothers and offered them use of the all-new Toyota RAV4 Hybrid to explore the San Gabriel Mountains.

2016 Toyota 4Runner Wins Acclaim from Autotrader Team

No matter how you slice it, there sure is a whole heck of a lot to like about our midsize SUV, the 2016 Toyota 4Runner. It's no doubt one of our favorites throughout the fleet here at Oxford Toyota.

And apparently, the fine folks at Autotrader are quite keen on it, too! Check the clip below to receive their take on the matter:

Propelled by a 4.0-liter V6, the 4Runner pushes out a plenteous 270 horsepower and 278 pound-feet of torque. A five-speed automatic is the only transmission offered. And though rear-wheel drive is standard, the 4Runner can…

Comparing the Toyota Tacoma Review to the Toyota Tundra

A few months ago, Motor Trend Channel took us on a border to border tour in the Toyota Tundra. This week, Motor Trend is back, four-wheeling though Utah's five national parks in the new Toyota Tacoma.

You'll notice some differences in how these two review shows are set up. When testing the Toyota Tundra, the main goal was reaching off-roading destinations. We watched the Tundra kick up sand, ford river beds, and take on Moab, UT and the "Hell's Revenge" rock crawl trail.

This review of the Tacoma focuses more on the vehicle's prowess over rough…

Cows that Power Cars? Toyota Is Doing It

What do cows and cars have in common? If you guessed that cows can power cars, you’d be right.

How does that work?

Who would have imagined, even a generation ago, that technology would be advanced enough to allow for the extraction of hydrogen from something as mundane as cow manure? And who could have imagined using that hydrogen to power vehicles?

Do You Believe in Battery Life After Cars?

As Cher once sang, "I can feel something inside my hybrid say, I really don't think this battery is strong enough. Do you believe in battery life after cars?" Or... something like that.

Well, Cher may have had a point. Even after a hybrid car's battery is no longer strong enough to power it, that battery can still have more life left inside it.

Toyota takes advantage of this extra life by hooking up several hybrid batteries, all working together. When Yellowstone National Park needed an off-grid power solution, they looked to Toyota.

Toyota's New Suite of Sensible Safety Features

Ever wish you had an extra pair of eyes watching the road? No, not like your annoying aunt Suzan who panics over every parked car you pass, but more like a cybernetic extension of your own eyes?

Well, Toyota thinks that's a good idea too.

Toyota's new intelligent safety features, called Safety Sense, will use sensors like cameras and radar to supplement your vision. Lane departure warning keeps track of your position in the lane, and can alert you if you are accidentally drifting out of it. Dynamic cruise control allows you to set a speed, and will…

Toyota Tundra TRD Pro: The Best Off-Roading Has to Offer?

You're looking for a 4x4 to do some extreme off-roading. You've got a few names on your list, and one of them should be the Toyota Tundra TRD Pro.

Dirt Every Day takes the Tundra out of a very do-able border-to-border trek, where they hit not only fun landmarks, but the country's greatest off-roading attractions.

When we say do-able, we mean "you could do this." It isn't that hard with a truck like the TRD Pro. It handles great on the highway, and most importantly, it handles like a pro on all types of terrain.

Why We May One Day Look to the Lake for Fuel

The era of gasoline may soon be at an end, as companies like Toyota push for an emission-free future.

Hydrogen is considered an emission-free fuel, because when hydrogen in the vehicle's fuel cell reacts with oxygen in the air, it generates electricity while leaving nothing behind but pure water.

We can get hydrogen from the water, too.

Though the majority of hydrogen produced in the US today for industrial purposes is created via natural gas steam reformation, as a fuel-alternative, companies are looking into more sustainable ways to get pure hydrogen.

By running an electrical current
