Ever wish you had an extra pair of eyes watching the road? No, not like your annoying aunt Suzan who panics over every parked car you pass, but more like a cybernetic extension of your own eyes?

Well, Toyota thinks that's a good idea too.

Toyota's new intelligent safety features, called Safety Sense, will use sensors like cameras and radar to supplement your vision. Lane departure warning keeps track of your position in the lane, and can alert you if you are accidentally drifting out of it. Dynamic cruise control allows you to set a speed, and will slow down so as not to crash into slower cars ahead of you.

The pre-collision system can detect potential frontal accidents, add brake power if your foot alone isn't strong enough pushing down the pedal, and can even stop automatically if you are unable to hit the brake in time.

With these little driving aids, Toyota hopes to cut accident rates, and keep drivers and passengers safer.
