Recently, Toyota reported December 2016 sales of 202,047 vehicles, which is a 2.6 percent improvement over December 2015 results. For the entirety of 2016, Toyota sold 2,118,402 vehicles.

Highlander registered a best-ever month with an increase of almost 58 percent, leading the model to its best yearly result ever. RAV4 sales grew 16.8 percent for December and 20.4 percent for 2016, both of which mark best-ever results. 4Runner sales improved 15.4 percent for both the month and the year, and the Certified Pre-Owned program also established best-ever month and year results.

“With another record year for the auto industry, consumers established Toyota as the number one retail brand in 2016, now five years running. Toyota division year-end results include record sales of both RAV4 and Highlander along with Camry continuing its sales leadership as the number one selling passenger car in America for the 15th consecutive year,” commented Bill Fay, Group Vice President and General Manager of the Toyota Division in a release.
