At the 2017 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas on January 4, Toyota announced a revolutionary concept vehicle that evinces the company’s belief that vehicles of the future should adapt to the people that are using them. The Concept-I was developed with the goal of providing users with an immersive and welcoming experience.

Designed by Toyota’s CALTY Design Research Center in Newport Beach, in conjunction with user experience technology development from the Toyota Innovation Hub in San Francisco, the Concept-i features impressive artificial intelligence that will anticipate the driver’s needs and create a relationship that goes much farther than learning driving patterns and schedules.
The Concept-i will track geographic location and relevant road conditions while sensors measure the driver’s emotions and attention, allowing the car to adjust how much autonomous intervention is required. The next-generation user interface, nicknamed “Yui,” will display information when and where it’s most needed, both inside and outside the vehicle.
Toyota recognizes that the future of mobility lies in the experience of the people who engage with automated or connected vehicles, which is why they’re developing a vehicle that also engages with people in return.
