We're getting a bit of a song stuck in our heads here. It goes:

I would drive 200,000 miles

And I would drive 200,000 more

Just to be the Prius that drove 400,000 miles

To break down at your door

Except, while we were re-writing this ballad for Bob Old's Toyota Prius, we forgot... it didn't break down after 400,000 miles. It's still going.

Bob Old lives in the UK... not too far from where The Proclaimers hail from. In 2004, he bought a Toyota Prius. He was looking for something with a reputation for reliability, as well as fuel efficiency to keep gas costs down for his long drives.

He was a bit skeptical at first... hybrids are new technology, and he worried that meant finicky and prone to breakdowns.

He hasn't broken down once.

The secret to his success may be the fact that he always keeps up with regular maintenance, and always brings the car in to an official Toyota service center.
